"Don't Just Survive..."

     ​Thrive is U-Turn Ministries’ seasonal program for kids age 6 to 11. Thrive is hosted weekly in the community of Wallaceburg at First Baptist Church and monthly in Brigden at Brigden Community Church.  The Thrive program season runs from October to April annually.

    This program season, as a team, we set out to introduce the kids to God as a triune being. The game plan was to explain the relationship between God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as well as their specific roles within the God Head! Pretty straight forward stuff eh?! Not only were kids taught the role of God within the heavenly realms but also in their everyday lives. So much so, that upon the conculsion of the input time we introduced the specific work of The Father, Son and Spirit as it related to the topic or circumstance presented.

    The 2012 edition of Thrive was an exciting one to say the least! This year in Wallaceburg the average program attendance was over 60 kids and got as high as 77. Thanks to Ryan and Sandy Duffy the bus program expanded to include Westcourt Villas, Southcourt Villas, Kinsmen Court, Fiddlers Green, the highrise apartments as well as the three story apartments on Wallace street.

    In Brigden we are very pleased to report that we have just recently secured the use of the Brigden Public School gymnasium. This will allow us to expand our current program model in Brigden as well as provide and more functional facility for organized activities and crafts. Thrive will conclude in Brigden with our season ending program scheduled for the end of May where two blessed kids will win new bikes!

    Currently, we are in the planning stages of launching Thrive in Chatham for the fall of 2012.  Stay tuned for the amazing things the Lord will do over the course of the 2012/2013 Thrive season!
