Camp U-Turn 2012
"God's Avengers"
Jump in, strap yourself down and hold on with everything you’ve got for an epic thrill ride this summer with Camp U-Turn. The 2012 edition of Camp U-Turn promises to be a summer camp like none other as the Lord has set the stage for Team U-Turn’s most ambitious project to date. Consequently, as a ministry, we are so excited, yet humbled by this unthinkable invitation by the King of Kings to venture down new pathways of creativity, relevance and faith. However, what really stirs us as a team, would be that year’s vision for Camp U-Turn is expressive of God’s heart and commitment to this generation of young people.... and we get to be a part of it.
The center piece of Camp U-Turn will be a 5 day dramatic presentation entitled “God’s Avengers.” God’s Avengers borrows the conceptual idea behind Marvel’s new motion picture The Avengers. However, God’s Avengers has nothing to do with superheroes or a fictional enemy. God’s Avengers is as real as it gets and will teach kids about the redemptive plan of God expressed through normal people. Individuals like Abraham, Moses, David and Esther who through faith and obedience played an integral part in His plan to save humanity and thwart the schemes of a very real enemy. In the end kids will understand that you don’t need to be a super hero with super powers, to be included in God’s plan, but simply a person with a yielded heart who lives daily in Christ’s power.
Wallaceburg – Monday July to Friday – 9am to 3:30pm
Last summer approximately 200 Wallaceburg and area kids arrived at First Baptist the first day of Camp U-Turn to register. Unfortunately, the maximum allowable was 150 kids (25 more than our advertised limit). Consequently, U-Turn was forced to place 50 kids on a waiting list.
U-Turn is absolutely thrilled to announce that the 2012 edition of Camp U-Turn will feature two camps running simultaneously at both First Baptist and Wallaceburg Christian Reformed Churches. Both Camps will be identical in terms of the daily schedule and corresponding events. During select afternoon events both camps will be combined.
Brigden – Friday July 30 to Friday, August 3 – 9am to 3:30pm
The summer of 2011 took U-Turn Ministries to the community of Courtright for the Lambton County installment of Camp U-Turn. Valuable connections were made and seeds sown. This summer Camp U-Turn will make its return to Brigden Community Church.
Transportation will be provided for both the community of Courtright and Wallaceburg.. Pick up locations will be the Courtright Community Centre and First Baptist Church Wallaceburg.
Stay tuned for pick up times an additional transportation details.
